Hannibal and his troops which included 90,000 infantry, 12,000 cavalry and elephants marched from Spain into Italy, where they scored a string of victories over Roman troops, but Rome came back and won victories in Spain and North Africa. The Romans won and Carthage was forced to give up its fleet and pay Rome in silver.
