G.K. Gokhale: Resolution for compulsory education put forward to the Imperial Legislative Council

Demanded free and compulsory education throughout the country for boys (6-10 age) - the expenses to be shared in proportion of 1:2 by the local bodies and government respectively.
This wasn’t approved as Govt. wanted a careful look at the entire picture of education.
