1 lugl 1949 anni - Prohibition of Mixed Marriages Act
Descrizione:
The Prohibition of Mixed Marriages Act of 1949 was the first law passed by the NP government.
The act made it illegal for White South Africans to marry people of other races.
The law was introduced despite the fact that the "problem" of mixed marriages was a tiny one: only 75 were recorded in the 3 years prior to the act's introduction.
