The reign of terror was a period of violence during the revolution lasting about a year. Many people were executed including enemies, nobles, priests, and hoarders. About 20,000 people were killed and 200,000 arrested. The terror was mainly carried out by
Maximilien Robespierre because he was at the head of it all. The was a law in place called the “Law of Suspects” which meant that anyone could accuse anyone of being against the revolution.
