Cyrus the Great was the founder of the Achaemenid/Persian dynasty. He created the vast Persian Empire by conquering surrounding lands and centralizing his government. He is most notable for his treatment of captured lands, as he did not force upon captured people religions or orders. He was very tolerant, and his successors expanded his empire and kept his tolerance. (2.2)
