Youtube brought a platform that made it possible for film companies to share their film trailers to an even wider audience. Not only were they being seen on the tv, but also now on computers which were gaining massive popularity throughout the modern world, enabling companies to target new audiences.
Not only this, but the long term impact would be monumental as it has recently given people on youtube a platform to share their creations without needing any where near the funding of a normal film production. It took film making back to a time similar to the 50's where low budget movies are becoming. thing again. This gives oppportunities to peple that would never normally be able to access this sort of medium and distribute their content if it weren't for youtube.
