Max Knoll, an electrical engineer, and Ernst Ruska, a German physicist, construct an electron microscope at the Berlin Technische Hochschule. Before these men, compound microscopes viewed objects 3x to 400x closer. The evolution of electron microscopes have gotten to the point of 10 million times magnification.
