It was a border dispute between Greece and Albania. The Conference of Ambassadors was given the job of settling this dispute, but they appointed an Italian general, Tellini, to supervise on it. Tellini and his men were ambushed and killed, yet no one knew who the killer(s) where; so, when the Italian Leader, Mussolini, got mad about his men getting killed, he threatened war on Greece (thinking they had been the ones to kill his men) unless the killer(s) where found and their punishment was brought down on them.

The League tried their best to settle down Mussolini, but he refused to let the matter rest and it was settled with Greece paying compensation for the men who lost their lives.
