the Christians took the city Barbahster which is one of the strongest in all Thagher (Aragon).The crusade of Basbastro also known as the siege of Basbastro which happen due to sanction of Pope Alexander II. This besiege cause huge toll towards the city. The King of Saragossa did not hasten up to help the inhabitant in the city but he left the city and let the people to protect the city and their own. The consequence of was that, the crusader got possession of it. The Christian besieged it for forty consecutive days. This besiege had made the Christian king ordered his general to slaughtered the inhabitant. The massacred had cause 6000 Muslim died at the sword of the Christian army. When the ordered the massacred to cease, the inhabitant run out from the city to save their life. In my opinion, this event was a great loss toward the Muslim side. The king of Saragossa, Ibn Suleyman Ibn Hud, should hasten up their army to protect the city as what he ought during his proclamation as the ruler to protect the city. He however left the city and opportunity to the Christian army to control the city.
