Under Abdul al-Mu'min, the Almohads defeated the Almoravids and conquered Maghreb and captured Marrakech. In order to bring down the Almoravids reign, the Almohads had forced the surrender of Seville and the extension of the Almohads rule over the rest of Islamic Spain followed.
