The first camera to feature automatic features was the selenium light meter-equipped. This camera had an automatic exposure feature. Its high price stopped this camera from being a success. It cost $225 at the time ($3912 in January 2nd 2018) By the 1960's, however, low-cost electronic components were commonplace and cameras equipped with light meters and automatic exposure systems became increasingly widespread. This would have helped the advancements of film as the average person would be able to make short films without needing to learn how to use the camera manually to get the best picture. This meant more amateurs would be producing films and shorts with ease.
