Windows XP, Microsoft's 20th version of it's home operating system, was released. This version of Windows is arguably the most widely known version. XP revolutionized Windows and reimagined the way we use computers. The design was overhauled, with image backgrounds available, and drop shadows being used to create a much more appealing aesthetic. Support lasted, incredibly, until April 8th, 2014. Windows 7 was the successor.
