The government of the Republic of China from the late 1970s to early 1990s, Deng Xiaoping, announced and established the open door policy in December 1978, creating a transformation in China’s economy. Deng became aware of China needing Western investment and technology and an opened door for foreign businesses to associate with China businesses, benefiting both the Chinese and the Western.
