John I of Portugal led his sons and 45,000 men attacked Ceuta and conquered them by the night. The next morning, the city of Ceuta was in Portuguese hands. Their victory inspires Prince Henry, later known as Henry the Navigator, to organize voyages along the western coast of Africa.
