In September of 1998 Larry Page and Sergey Brin created the search engine Backrub. Soon after Page and Brin renamed Backrub Google. Google caught the eye of silicon valley investors and was written a check for $100,000 by Andy Becktolsheim. Google eventually gained traction as a serch engine and now has over 60.000 employers.
