British mathematician and logician, Alan Turing ,was born June 23, 1912 in London, England where he lived for most of his life. Turing worked for the British government during World War II to decipher the German Enigma codes and greatly aided the British in battle by doing so. June 7, 1954 Alan was found dead in his apartment from cyanide poisoning.
