BluRay discs were made with much higher quality than a normal DVD, the resolution tended to be 1080p/i. these, however are much more expensive than DVD's and many people have remained with DVD's. However you have to have a BluRay player to play a BluRay disc, so is the better quality worth it? In my opinion I wouldn't buy BluRay, but some people prefer the better quality. BluRay discs have become a very significant invention towards better quality viewing of film and TV shows and therefore more people have purchased them for the improved experience.
