CGI was used in the film "Westworld" for the first time. It used a new process called Pixelation to digitally film for two minutes. CGI has immensely evolved since then and could even be considered as overused today. However it presents a massive significance to the evolution of film with CGI showing the development of technology at the time. Furthermore it set the groundings for future use in films like Star Wars and Jurassic Park.
