14 ore 23 min, 2 gen 1647 anni - Stepped Reckoner ( The Leibniz)

Descrizione:

Designed in 1671 and crafted by german mathematician Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz, the Leibniz (sometimes called the stepped reckoner ) was the most superior calculating machine of its time. Through the repetition of adding and shifting numbers the machine, could multiply, add, subtract, divide, and even find square roots. Unlike the pascaline, The Leibniz used a binary system in which two digit numbers are read and manipulated to control a switch; giving the machine the ability to perform many functions rather than one or two. It wasn't until 1673, that the machine was finally released to the public.
