11 gen 1946 anni - ENIAC -- The Very First Successful Computer
Descrizione:
With finance from the U.S. military, work on the computer began in secret at the University of Pennsylvania's Moore School of Electrical Engineering. ENIAC was designed by John Mauchly and J. Presper Eckert of the University of Pennsylvania, U.S. It was amongst the earliest electronic general-purpose computers made. It had a speed on the order of one thousand times faster than that of electro-mechanical machines; the combination of speed and programmability allowed for thousands more calculations for problems.
1.ENIAC is generally acknowledged to be the first successful high-speed electronic digital computer (EDC) and was productively used from 1946 to 1955.
2. Because of its electronic, as opposed to electromechanical, technology, it is over 1,000 times faster than any previous computer.
3.It was believed that ENIAC had done more calculation over the ten years it was in operation than all of humanity had until that time.
