24 feb 313 anni - 313: The Edict of Milan granted toleration to all religions, including Christianity, in the Roman Empire
Descrizione:
Through this edict, Christianity quickly became religiously and politically dominant and a way to gain the Emperor’s favor. People began to adopt Christianity without actually having true faith. Under Constantine and his successors, wealth and money began to flow into the church, bringing in materialism. The emperor also had power over matters of the church, which he could use politically to gain the support of the Roman Catholic Church in his campaigns.
