School opens in Des
Moines
Descrizione:
This was the first school built specifically to serve physically disabled children. In its first year, it provided learning space for 165 students whose physical disabilities made it impossible for them to attend other schools. The building features three courtyards and large windows, allowing children who otherwise would likely have been forced to remain indoors a chance to spend time outside and learn about the world around them in new and exciting ways.
