1 gen 1654 anni - dobbin
Descrizione:
The only example noted is in Patrington court rolls: 1654 the wife of John Laykes, for stryking Gregorye Bilton with a doubing and mayking an assault (ERAS8/23). The meaning suggested by the editor of the rolls was ‘rolling-pin’ but I have been unable to confirm that. Wright lists ‘dobbin’ as a Yorkshire word meaning ‘a small glass tumbler’ (EDD) and that would fit the context.
