1 gen 1676 anni - dryster
Descrizione:
An occupational term with –ster as the suffix, comparable with lister, webster, etc. It was evidently used of workmen whose job it was to dry something, as grain in a kiln, but it is poorly documented: 1676 Robert Croft, dryster, of Brookfoot, Southowram (QS1). The Yorkshire historian Speight wrote that drysters were potters’ craftsmen, Nidderdale (OED). See –ster.
