The refuse from tree loppings, i.e. branches, twigs and clippings. 1616 <i>they did stowe and girde so many ashe trees, oake trees and holings in this snowe tyme … and the small brashe they left for ther cattle to bruse on but they led home with a sled the great wood, </i>Brandsby (NYRO44/109).
