In dozens of cities around the U.S. demonstrations occurred against the Vietnam War. In New York a rally began in Central Park after a 20,000 person march occurred down Fifth Avenue. Marches also took place in Chicago, Boston, Washington, San Francisco, Denver, Altana, Oklahoma City, and Hartford. This is important because it was the first time protests took place around the entire country.
