The Munich Pact was signed by Britain, France, and Germany in agreement to avoid an outbreak of war as well as allowing Germany control over Czechoslovakia to keep them at bay. But Germany broke the pact when they invaded Poland, which Britain and France agreed to protect. Two days later Britain declared war on Germany, and WWll began.
