On February 5th, FDR announced his plan to increase the court to 15 members, which would allegedly "pack" the court with members that would support his New Deal. In the past, some of his programs were turned down because they gave the federal government too much power. Critics of FDR believe he wanted to increase the number of members because there would be more members supporting him and his views.
