The New Deal was a series of programs, public work projects, financial reforms and regulations presented by President Roosevelt in response to the Great Depression. The New Deal was set on Roosevelt's basic philosophy of Keynesian Economics, which was also known as the three "R's": relief, recovery, and reform. In the Spring of 1935, Roosevelt launched a second, more aggressive series of federal programs that were called the Second New Deal.
