23 gen 1964 anni - 24th Amendment

Descrizione:

The 24th Amendment ended poll taxes nationwide. This was a significant stride for the Civil Rights movement because poll taxes were one major tactic used to prevent African Americans from voting, mostly in the South. Not only did they require the voter to pay a fee, but the crooked system made it nearly impossible for African Americans to be able to vote, yet white people were not subject to this unfairness.
