1 gen 1820 anni - The Missouri Compromise
Descrizione:
The Missouri Compromise, a law passed by the United States Congress in 1820, attempted to settle disagreements between the North and South parts of the country by finalizing which states were free states and which states were slave states. The law stated that all states above the 36 30 latitude line were free states (except Missouri, which was a slave state) and admitted Maine into the country as a free state. In 1823, the agreement was repealed by the Nebraska Act, and then found unconstitutional by the Dred Scott decision.
