My Grandma and her mum were billeted in a small cottage with an old lady called Miss Love. She didn't want them there and she made their lives hell.
She had an earth closet at the bottom of the garden which she kept locked. She would let my Grandma in when she wanted to use it and she stood outside.
The place was full of caterpillars and this really upset my Grandma and she hated squashy, legless things since then.
The atmosphere in the house was was awful, my Grandma refused to eat anything, and became so ill she couldn't get out of bed. Her mum said they might as well take their chances with the bombs in Hull, my Grandma immediately got up.
