negotiated and signed by France, Belgium and Germany
- promises the invaiblity of the Franco-German, German-Belgian borders
- any disputes to be mediated and Britain and Italy to react against possible aggressor

- the agreements provoke and outbursts of optimism and enthusiasm around the world or the so-called ‘Locarno Spirit’
- Stresemann is awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1926
