John Jefferson Mustaine, father of Dave Mustaine, 1/8/1922-23/6/1978 (aged 55)

John died in June of 1978, Dave was 16 years old. Apparently, John slipped off a stool and hit his head in a bar, giving him a cerebral haemorrhage. Dave has his doubts and implies that he was probably drunk and did something to get injured in the bar. Doctors probably could’ve saved him by cracking his skull open and relieving pressure, but they needed permission from John’s family (Dave, Dave’s mom and sisters, John’s siblings, etc), but no one was available to ask. John ended up slipping into a coma and died just a week after Dave tracked him down and reunited with him.
