Descrizione:

The Lateran Accord in Italy involved Pope Pius XI and Benito Mussolini. It was an agreement between the Italian government and the Catholic Church that settled the long standing conflict between them. This agreement recognized Vatican City as an independent state. Additionally, it made sure that Catholicism is the official religion of Italy, and that the pope wouldn't interfere with Italian politics. This was significant because it heavily stregthened mussolinis rule.
