The League of Arab States, better known as the Arab League, is formed with seven members: Egypt, Iraq, Transjordan (Jordan), Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Syria, and North Yemen. The organization's goal is to promote cooperation between its member states and to safeguard their independence. Today, the Arab League contains 22 total states.

"Arab" refers to an ethnic group originating in particular areas of SWANA that speaks Arabic as their first language and is united by its culture and history. Arab is not a race and does not equate to every single person whose lineage comes from SWANA. The following is a list of countries considered to be Arab (with the exceptions of some ethnic groups within them):
