These mangos were displayed, and wax figures were soon made and paraded around China. One dentist who was not impressed by the fruit and compared it to a sweet potato was put on trial for slander, found guilty, paraded publicly around town, and then executed. Not only this, but mango themed products were in high demand, ranging from plastic replicas to mango-flavored cigarettes. This isn't an important event but I thought this was REALLY cool.
