3 dic 2004 anni - IDEA Introduces Response to Intervention (RTI)
Descrizione:
In 2004, the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act introduced the Response to Intervention approach, which was a method used to identify students with learning disabilities in order to provide early interventions. This approach replaced the "wait to fail" model to take more of a preventative approach to finding learning disabilities in students. RIT uses a tiered model that provides more personalized education as the tears increase, and each child is monitored in these tiers to determine progress or challenges in the placement of a child. Tier 1 provides supports in general education classrooms, tier 2 utilizes small group instruction with specialized interventions, and tier 3 provides a much more individualized education program, or the referral for special education.
