Adolf Hitler turns on Stalin and invades Russia. The USSR was not prepared and had many of their armies encircled and destroyed. The USSR were losing and were still dealing with their ongoing winter war with Finland. The Germans however didn't have winter gear and when the winter came, the germans were devastated. Stalin brought its forces from the Siberian front to the west to fight the Germans. These soldiers were highly equipped for winter fighting and eventually the Germans were being pushed back.
