1 gen 1970 anni - E-books
Descrizione:
Electronic books that could be stored and transmitted digitally evolved alongside the computer. An early example of an ebook library was Michael Hall’s Project Gutenberg, which made digital editions of public domain texts available for free online (Galbraith, 2020). Combined with the proliferation of library ebook lending programs, the ebook made a vast variety of books more accessible than ever before.
About the image: This image is a screenshot of the Project Gutenberg ebook for Galen’s On the Natural Faculties taken on my personal computer. Galen’s works have passed through many of the previously-discussed formats in this timeline and can now be downloaded for free anywhere one could imagine.
