1 gen 1040 anni - Movable type
Descrizione:
A vital development in the history of the book was the invention of movable type. The first movable type was ceramic, and was created in China around 1040 CE. East Asian movable type was made of a variety of materials, including wood. Another crucial innovation was the invention of much more durable metal movable type, which first appeared in Korea around 1234 CE (Galbraith, 2020). Movable type allowed for books to be printed quickly and consistently, and was the basis of many future developments in printing.
