What: Japan invaded and capture Nanjing, China. The soldiers hunted down anyone suspected Chinese soldiers, people outside of the safe zone and executed them. No one was excused for being out of the Safe Zone. A total of 300,000 civilians and many unarmed Chinese soldiers
