28 nov 1989 anni - Ebola Zaire Identified in Lab
Descrizione:
On November 28th, Peter Jahrling spent the day using human samples to identify the virus that had originated in the Reston monkey house. Peter had called the Reston monkey house that same day and warned them about a potential occurrence of Marburg in the monkeys. Peter Jahrling tested the virus using three blood serums, one for Marburg, one for Ebola Sudan, and one for Ebola Zaire. The only serum the virus from Reston reacted with was the Ebola Zaire serum. The disease that had been affecting the monkeys was Ebola Zaire, the most infectious and fatal known filovirus.
