***Geneological Part of Genesis (Abrahamic Lineage) - Abraham--> Issac--> Jacob (Israel)--> Joseph ---> Enslavement in Israel (1 janv. 2000 av. J.-C. – 1 janv. 1500 av. J.-C.)

Description:

In the biblical account of the origins of Israel,
narratives concerning Israel's ancestors in
Gen. chs 12-50 follow the mythic material in
chs 1-1 1. The chronology of the narratives
themselves is set in the early second millennium BCE, but there are no direct connections
between the biblical traditions and nonbiblical sources. No person or event known from
Egyptian, Mesopotamian, or other sources is
even mentioned in the biblical narrative.

The Jewish Study Bible pg. 2049

Abraham is given the first covenant by God (Abrahamic Covenant) and is told to leave Ur with his family and go to Canaan (the Levant).

He goes and eventually has a son (at 99 yrs old with Sarah, his 90 year old wife). That son is Issac.

Issac's son is Jacob. Jacob leaves Canaan (after angering his brother Esau). God tells Jacob his offspring will inherit the land and fill the earth.
Going back to Canaan, Jacob wrestles with an angel (God?) and God renames Jacob to Israel.

One of Jacob's son (Joseph) is sold into slavery in Egypt were he becomes famous. After a famine, Canaanite's go to Egypt and are welcomed by Joseph.

Later, a Pharaoh enslaves all the Israelites.
