Description:

Wiremu Harihona Karewheko, Chief of the Maori Kainga, Onuku, Akaroa (better known in and about Akaroa, by the euphonious appellation of "Big William") invited his friends, both native and European to the Kainga, to celebrate the anniversary of his son's birth. A considerable number of natives from Wairewa and; Opukataki, and also of residents from Akaroa/ and the farms adjoining Onuku, responded to the invitation.
