Philip IV the Fair (24 mar 1285 año – 17 feb 1314 año)
Descripción:
Waged many wars against England and Flanders, wanting to extend his domain. However, he lacked the funds to do so.
During his rule it was decided that French kings had complete sovereignty and were subordinate neither to the emperor or the pope. From this moment, all people in France became the king's subjects. This provided a necessary justification to tax the clergy.
To increase his fortune he introduced fake coins to the market, which subsequently lead to an economic crisis.
