After the Glorious Revolution, people started to think religion was getting stale. They just ran through the motions. This all changed with the first great awakening. People started to realize that religion should be in their own hands, not the church. More people started coming back to religion and believed that free will was an important part of everyone's lives. This mindset would later lead to the American Revolution.
