Berlin is the capital of Germany. The building of the Berlin Wall had to do with the split of Germany. The western side was a democracy while the eastern side was communist. The berlin wall was built by the Soviets to stop the immigration of eastern Germans to the western side. The significance is that each side wants their form of government to be greater than the other side. This is colored blue because the germans on the eastern side wanted to go to the western side because of the government. So, it is clear that the capitalists won.
