The Chinese Nationalist Party (1 ene 1920 año – 1 ene 1930 año)
Descripción:
Yuan Shikai was the leader of China, while Sun Yixian fled to Japan. Yuan tried to create his own dynasty, but failed. Powerful Warlords had their own armies, and ruled most of the country with them. The Kuomintang was still a thing, and they tried to unify China again. They hoped to make CHina a republic. They asked help from the Soviets, and the sent political and military advisors to help build a modern Chinese army and government. In 1925, Sun Yixian died. A military commander named Chiang Kai-shek took over the nationalist party. Under his rule, they grew stronger. In 1926, Chiang started an army with the nationalists, called the Northern Expedition. Their goal was to overthrow the warlords. The Nationalists were successful, taking over the Hunan province and the cities of the Wuhan area. The Kuomintang were then split in two. The left wing party wanted more power for peasants and workers, and the right wing didn't want that change. Chiang became the leader of the right wing. He then expelled all the soviets from China, and moved against the left wing of the Kuomintang. His armies attacked the communist left wing. He established a Nationalist government in Nanjing.
