Montgomery bus boycott (5 dic 1955 año – 18 agos 1956 año)
Descripción:
Prior to the bus boycott, Jim Crow laws mandated the racial segregation of the Montgomery Bus Line. As a result of this segregation black people were not hired as drivers, were forced to ride in the back of the bus, and were quite frequently ordered to surrender their seats to white people even though black passengers made up 75% of the bus system's riders. Rosa Parks is the first person to refuse to give up her seat. She was later arrested. After she was released, she began to gather her friends and began the boycott.
It showed that things can be integrated and without black people things wouldn't be the same.
